How to insert an image?
You can insert an image into your post, to do this follow the next steps:
- Click on “Write a post” in the sidebar of the homepage
- Scroll down to the Upload tool, click on “Browse”
- Select the image you want to upload
- Before hitting the upload button give a title and short description. This way your files remain easily browsable!
- Now, click on “Upload”. As soon as uploading has finished, you will see the image in the upload-bar.
- You can change settings by clicking on the image, a menu appears. Change any setting by just clicking on it.
The first row of settings gives you the opportunity to choose between using the original image or a thumbnail (thumbnails all have default the same size and will be aligned left of text).
The second row lets you choose between the ways the image is linked:
- Not linked
- Linked to image (clicking on image will give image in white screen)
- Linked to page (clicking gives images in post view)
- Linked to pop-up (hoover over image and original will appear in screen!)
The rest of the rows give “insert” to insert the image into the post/excerpt, “delete” to delete it or “close options” to exit this settings menu.
Typically using thumbnail and linked to pop-up is most common used.
Before you insert the image place the cursor where this image has to be shown, then click “insert”.
OR just drag the item to the excerpt or post-box and let go.
If you need the link of the image, right click on the image in the Upload tool and copy the link.
Inserting a file goes about the same way, for an exact explanation see Upload file
